Please find the answers to many of your questions about Simply You Therapeutic Laser Hair Removal below...
Q. What laser system do you use?
R. Simply You uses the Lightsheer laser system. The Lightsheer laser is a diode laser and is approved for permanent hair reduction by the Food and Drug Administration. The Lightsheer generates light at the 810nm wavelength which targets the melanin within the hair follicle. The patented ChillTip cools the skin during treatment
Q. What is different about your system?
R. We believe this is absolutely the best laser currently available for permanent hair removal on all skin types. The Lightsheer Diode Laser System was designed from the ground up for laser hair removal, so it has the wavelength, fluence, pulse width and active epidermal cooling system – the ChillTip. Our system provides for speed, accuracy and patient comfort.
Q. Can you treat all skin colors?
R. Our system effectively treats all skin types.
Q. Why are repeated laser hair removal sessions necessary?
R. The Lightsheer laser works by destroying hairs that are in the active phase of growth at the time of treatment. Hair growth is divided into three phases- growth (anagen), regression (catagen) and resting(telogen). The location of the body determines what percentage of hair is in the anagen stage at any given time. Additional treatments are necessary to catch all the hairs in the anagen phase.
Q. Is laser hair removal painful?
R. Laser hair removal treatments may cause a slight tingling sensation. Most patients tolerate this very well without the need for anesthetic. Some areas are more sensitive than others. The LightSheer system uses the patented ChillTip to cool the skin during treatment. This technique allows for precise cooling and the most comfortable and effective laser treatment available.
Q. What are the side effects of laser hair removal?
R. The appearance of the treated area immediately following a procedure will vary from patient to patient. Most patients will notice slight redness and swelling around the hair follicle. These are desired clinical results which indicate the follicle has responded to the treatment.
Q. How much does laser hair removal cost?
R. The fee for laser hair removal is based upon the body part being treated. We advise patients that they will need an average of six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Treatment plans are individualized for each patient depending upon the cycle of hair growth.
