The Lightsheer laser allows hair to be removed gently and permanently. A beam of laser light targets the pigment contained within the hair follicle and causes thermal damage to the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed for only a fraction of a second and the patented Chilltip cools the skin surface during treatment. The hair follicles in the active phase have the most amount of melanin and are therefore the most susceptible to the laser energy. The laser is extremely effective at removing hair from the face, arms, legs, chest, bikini area, back and other areas. Optimum removal of all or most hair in a given region requires 5-6 treatments, which are separated by 4-6 week intervals.
On your first visit to Simply You, our registered nurse will obtain a full health history and determine your skin type. She will thoroughly review the details of the procedure and answer any questions that you have. A physician will oversee your treatments. In most cases a test spot will be performed at that initial visit.
